Hi I’m Michelle and I’m the founder of Carers’ Circle – caring for ageing parents.
Carers’ Circle is Australia’s only general online resource dedicated to helping the children (or nieces or nephews) of ageing parents. That means we cover a wide range of topics that will help you and your ageing parents – from your perspective, because we’re going through it too.
We’re not alone in this. The world’s population is getting older. The UN says that in 2017, older people (60 and over) made up 13% of people. This is expected to more than double by 2050 to be over a quarter of the population.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it also takes a network to help people as they age
– a circle of carers.
Like you, my parents are getting older (aren’t we all?) and are throwing me and my sisters curve balls to add to this juggling act we call life.
Like you too, I’m a busy person and want to do the best for my parents but struggle to know what to do, or where to find the right information, to find the time to do it in.
That’s where Carers’ Circle comes in. We want to help make it easier for you to help you care for your ageing parents – without the guilt (OK, we can’t promise the last bit), but we’ll try and give you the information you need so you can rest easier knowing you’re doing the best you can. And you can’t do everything.
We are working hard to cover all the topics you need, but if there’s something particular you’d like to see to help caring for ageing parents, please drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
We’d love to hear from you. The more contributors we have, the more people we can help. We’re in this together.
